I'm a college student in N. Carolina who bought a used saloon a yr ago from a used car dealership thought I could trust. The coup¨¦ cost $1800. thought it was other b/c the owner was allowing me to product payments. Soon after I realized the motor leaked grease. I was putting 2 qts a wk. The place i bought the coup¨¦ from also repairs cars; I complained about the filter & the owner told me they could fix it & I could make payments on the cost of repairs($900) give him $200 up front & left my motor there for a wk. I picked it up & they assured me it be fixed, however 2 days later the grease leaked out. I call the shop & they told me to leave it again & they'd fix it. moved out the car again picked it up 2-3 times & the prob. be the same. feel i was getting the "run around" & stopped paying 4 the repairs 3 mths ago, i owe $20 on the vehicle but $700 in repairs; the owner say i must pay the repairs to return with the title or he'll reposses it. This seems criminal he the prob. was not fixed at adjectives?
Answers: First off, you really don't obligation the title. If you only remunerated $1800 for it a year ago, it's not much of a car, is it? The trader probably had $250 within the car to instigate with.
On the title, if you borrowed the money from the guard, and repaid the bank, the title would be yours. Obviously you didn't do that. The disposition of the lein has become confused, but I don't ruminate you will get out of it that slickly.
To answer your question, this is a moment ago my opinion. In my assessment, the law protects mechanics who founder to fix. They have the freedom to charge you any amount of money they deliberate you'll pay and not fix the problem, and you cannot force them to grant you your money back base on performance. Plenty of associates are dissatisfied with mechanics, but nobody ever get their money back contained by small claims court, do they? I don't think so. The defence is YOU aren't competent to demonstrate what they did wrong. You don't even know what they were supposed to repair. It's going to be impossible for you to show they did the work wrong, or didn't do it, because you simply don't know ample to do that.
So get some abet in the adjectives from somebody that knows how to fix a vehicle. I don't mean a poser, any. And learn something like them yourself, too.
I agree with you, but you may own to get a attorney to get the title. I would discuss to one about it....the consultation is usually free.
