if i were to powder coat a metal part of a set can it come out shiny or will it come out flat also how hard is it for the paint to chip
Answers: Finished surrounded by powder coat can be gloss, matt or sledge hammer.
It will not chip that easily but will depend on the powder used. Some are harder while others are more flexible.
For a correct quality finish its drastically important to hold a clean surface. If its rusty at adjectives, sand blast it. Next an acid hip bath. Then another which I can't remember, posssibly to neatralize the acid. At this stage no contact beside your hand as it will effect ability.
After baking allow enought time to cool.
