The headlights on my car aren't working properly, and I'm not sure what the problem is.
The park lights, fog lights, and brights all give the impression of being to work fine, but the regular lights (drive lights, dims) aren't working properly. Basicly, the big bulb doesn't illuminate when the dims are turned on, but it will come on when I switch over to brights.
So, my question: what exactly is the problem and what do I need to do to fix it? (Do I requirement new lightbulbs? Does this sound similar to some type of electrical problem? Or is it something else entirely?)

Answers: Unfortunately you haven't told us what kind of vehicle you have so here are several possibility's including...dimmer switch, relay for low beams only (as previously posted) if your vehicle uses this type of system, electric wiring to low beams if high and low beam are separate lamps, daytime running lamp module (if equipped) and lastly and most commonly...two adjectives out low beams. Yes, it happens adjectives the time. People don't always notice the first one turn but when the second goes it gets physical obvious. For just a few bucks at Wally world you can grab hold of one bulb and replace it to see if the simplest fix does the trick. Good luck and let us know!
P.S. if the bulb doesn't do the trick please make sure you give somebody a lift it to a factory trained technician or an independent that specializes in your make and model. Don't agree to someone just throw parts at it, it will take time to properly diagnose beside at least a basic inspection needed formerly an estimate can even be provided but that is usually cheaper than buying several parts on a guess. A trained and certified tech should have no problem finding the solution to this problem.
