Question for a mechanic?

I have a 97 blazer. It have been running unexpected and stalling here lately so I put a 300.00 fuel pump on it only to find that didnt fix it. Heres what its doing. When I turn the knob on and try starting it ...it goes to partly a tank on the fuel guage and purely keeps cranking but wont start. When I turn the push button off and try again it go to a quarter of a tank..where on earth its supposed to be and starts right up. Any ideas what may be cause the trouble?

Answers: it sounds like you may own a bad ground telecommunication loose in lower than the dash ,those be really popular for loosing ground wires,i own one,a have have several problems from the ground in lower than the dash,and it make the gages read real crazy too,but it also knock out the ignition sometimes,you might want to check this,gm was not respectable for this problem,good luck beside it.,,PS you need to also check the ignition module on that one,it sounds fake it might not be getting any fire to the plugs at all ,fitting luck.

Check your fuel lines and gas cap for leak. It may also be a sensor. Does it try to start at all? Might also be the starter or spark plugs.
