ok before anyone says anything around it being illegal or anything, i live surrounded by michigan and we have no testing or rays standards. i live near detroit and catalytic converters get stolen rotten cars all the time(the one on my last coup¨¦ was stolen), i want to take it past its sell-by date myself before it gets stolen and not hold to worry, what do i have to do next to the sensors or whatever so the car keep running right with no lights coming on?

Why not weld on padlocks from the cat to each end of the exhaust? Wouldn't that deter thieve? Then again, the clanging might drive you nuts.
You could get quick-disconnects and take the cat contained by the house each night.

You will gain zilch by it's removal except possibly requiring a gas mask to drive your car. If you are from Detroit, you can receive one at the same place you buy bullet proof vests. It takes too much try for a thief to remove a cat converter, since it is usually welded to the rest of the exhaust system. Ford engineers worked pretty tricky to get the Focus to get high-ranking gas mileage and decent power from that engine. Don't screw things up!! See you at the army surplus!
