Driving down the road this morning seemed similar to the tranny was stuck contained by gear. i took my foot off the gas and the speed kept increasing, i have to brake to slow down & it sped up again without touching a foot to the gas pedal. pulled over, put it surrounded by park & it was running at over 2000 rpms while parked. turned it past its sell-by date & started it up & it started at over 2000 rmps again like it be in drive. restarted it a second time & run fine afterwards...major problem or be it because it was the coldest morning this year?

That be your throttle sticking not the tranny, you might have someone lubricate the throttle cable and linkage.
