I have a 96 Acura TL. Three days ago it started screech like wacky, more so when I break, but even while I drive. It's loud. I know I should stop driving it- so I am as of today. But someone told me the damage could be so impossible that it would cost me 2000$ to repair. Anyone have any design what is wrong and how much it will be? The brake pads are probably pretty worn because I own to hit em hard to stop completely, but that's be like that for a while. I'm a girl and I'm young-ish, so I'm evasive of going to a shop and getting played out. If the damage is over 300$, good-bye coup¨¦.
Any help is appreciated, appreciation.
Answers: my brakes started doing that and i believe i just stipulation new break pad. they are pretty cheap (especially if you can get a cousin or brother to replace them) they run almost $20-40. If your car is screech when you drive, turn, etc it could be power steering. In that case, you any need more fluid or you necessitate to replace your power steering.
Your best bet is to ask a family applicant or friend that knows somewhat something about cars as they are smaller number likely to screw you over for money similar to a mechanic might.
Well, with your attitude, I suggest you stop driving adjectives together. If you are not willing to spend more consequently $300 on car repair, you own no business driving a vehicle. Your pads are probably worn out, and here back long, they will stop screeching and start grinding, and that will be the metal of the pad grinding groves into your rotors. The the repair will be new pad AND rotors. Right now its probably a short time ago pads, but I suggest you deal in the car and buy a bicycle because you apparently are not responsible enough to own and operate a vehicle.
