Just figured out how to check my brake fluid surrounded by my car. It's completely clean (no wonder my brakes were bad...) It's used, so I have no clue where on earth the manual is. Does anyone know what style of brake fluid should be going into this particular model?
And should I steep it to the max line, or riddle it half process, run the car a bit. Then permit my car cool sour and put in more?
Answers: Veiled,
Your surrounded by luck. Would you believe I have my 98 Mercury Sable owners encyclopaedia in front of me at this vastly minute? You're brake fluid should be High performance DOT 3 Motor Vehicle brake fluid.
I'll enjoy to warn you however, there's a drive the brake fluid is GONE. Most likely you hold a rusted brake line because somewhere between where on earth your feet rest down the steering wheel spinal column to the brake equalizer junction box astern the left backside wheel, a leaky helm cylinder, cut or worn out brake hose. Get it checked immediately.
It's without blemish fine to dump in brake fluid next to the motor hot running or cold. Purchase a cheap small funnel because brake fluid is sold in drastically odd shaped can. I'll tell you right presently you will need a minimium of a quart an a partially because you will need to hold your brake lines blead of all the heavens. while bleading they'll find the leak.
Good luck to ya!
