Shifter will not shift if started with saloon in park. Can this be fixed glibly?
There is a relay solenoid that requires you to have your foot on the break formerly you can take your coup¨¦ out of park. Make sure your foot is on the break. The switch or solenoid may be out of adjustment or broken.
Some cars, if you turn the key to on, but don't start the vehicle, apply the break, you can hear the solenoid click. Check your owners manual.
The Ford Taurus' are problematic on transy trouble.
It happen to the Taurus my GF had, 36k miles and driving fine and the tranny a short time ago died with no warning!
You will have to go back to the beginning the tranny.
