Well, im 14 and planning on getting my permit as soon as possible (10 months 27 days) and i was wondering what theres no replacment for displacement designed exactly. i heard it had something to do next to boring your engine?
Displacement is the space described by the movement of the piston. Roughly speaking, it's the total volume of adjectives cylinders with the piston in the lowest (minimum compression) position
The greater this volume, the bigger the explosion you can hold in the cylinder, meaning you can sort more power per stroke.
One way of getting more displacement is to bore your cylinders larger, so yes, it does have something to do near that. (However it is more complicated than that.)
It should be noted, though, that this isn't anything you really need to be worrying about at 14. You should not be on public roads near a fast car until you've be driving for a couple of years.
Oh, and some might say there IS a replacement for displacement...revs, or forced induction. Higher revs (RPMs, revolutions per minute) process you have more explosions, making more power. Forced induction (turbo or superchargers...basically fan powered by exhaust gasses or a belt attached to the engine, respectively, that increase the air pressure going into the engine) means you can pack more fuel and nouns into the cylinder at higher pressure, making for a more potent explosion, and more power. However, neither of these help at low RPMs. Displacement make more power through the whole RPM range. You don't enjoy to wait for the turbo to spool or until you get up to 5000 RPMs or more to move about fast.
"There's no replacement for displacement" is usually a phrase used by fans of American cars. American sports cars usually use larger engines than their overseas counterparts (and when they DON'T they usually use foreign-designed engines). They're agreed for having good low-end torque.
Japanese sports cars usually any rev really high (Honda, Toyota, and Mazda Rotary engines are famous for this), or use turbos (Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Subaru are prearranged for this). These are the cars people who say "there's no replacement for displacement" may be poking fun at.
Or they could a moment ago be saying it to brag about the big unknown engine they got, or about boring and stroking (increasing the travel of the piston) their engine.
it wise saying bigger motors with more diplacement are better theres nothing better than displacement that isnt true because today 6 cylinders can achieve 1500 hp while v12 getting 500hp by using a turbo
it means bigger engines are better.not so true by todays standards.4 cylindes today trade name the power v8's did 20 yrs ago.
Answers: It means the bigger the engine the more Reliable power there will be.
Anything else is deceptive and wont last long.
A motors size is called displacement : cubic inches
You can beef up for a while Honda 4 cylinder , but it wont last long.
And that would not be reliable.
A bigger engine spreads the stress of the horsepower created .
Thus lasting longer.
Fast and the furious be a huge marking joke or scam on the kids. And Boy did they buy it..
Those engines are newly not thick enough to pedal the high horsepower. Yes , making a 1000 hp can be done.Just not sustained.
They spend a lot of money of late making the cars HP Just to be Equivalent to a Stock Small V8 like a 302 motor..And shortly after there engine fail.Requiring rebuild or replacement.
And those little lightweight cars are unsafe..Especially at a higher rate of speed.
Do not believe those movies.
If those cars be all that , the older more experianced folks would drive them more.
They are a scam . The book time to work on a front pedals drive (sideways motor) is twice that of a rear wheel drive.
So much next ,for the good gas mileage .

it's just an antiquated saying about bigger engines one better. As in the displacement in volume of the cylinders. It's really a event of opinion. People that say that usually approaching big block motors like 454's and they don't like the newer smaller displacement 4 and 6 cylinders.
what it means is the bigger the engine the better bad you are as far as speed goes if thats what interests you, bigger engines have more torque than smaller engines and torque is what you touch in the seat of your pant when you take off, your better past its sell-by date building an engine with a lot of torque if you are chirpy running the streets and beating up on your buddies going from red light to redlight as horsepower scheme nothing on the street from red light to red lighting and the more cu. in. or the more litres an engine has the more torque it have.
