Answers:    This is a pretty tough problem. You may get 2 elegant for it but it's not a certainty. $1200 as a starting price is appropriate for a rebuild tranns and conceivably worth it if you are sure everything else is in obedient condition. New car payments, as you know, are a throbbing and vans are pretty pricey in today's open market. If you don't trust your current van even after the rebuild I suggest you should trade it for a good used van or walk with a angelic low mileage used tranns now so you can trade it in biddable running condition later. A used one may run around $800 to $1000 installed. I close to www.car-part.com for used parts. Money is going to be an issue no matter which bearing you turn.
