I have a s10 1986 near a carburated 305 in it. It idle fine. When i click it into gear the idle drops so low it dies sometimes and also when Im driving if i push on the gas more than a short time ago a little bit the revs up to similar to 25 hundred rpms but doesn't go anywhere. It only just chugs and chokes along then dies.

Answers: If not the carburator or the fuel pump, perchance it's your catalytic converter. DON'T GO TO MIDAS THEY'RE A RIP OFF!! Check out rip-off.com
try cleaning the carburator first. if that doesnt work replace it. We had a mustang within my shop recently near the same problem. It also needed a fuel pump... honourable luck.
