Hi, i wonder if you could help me please, i lately placed a recon diesel pump today on my 1999 1.8 TDDI focus, and as you know it is locked to TDC by a stud and a horse shoe like washer, i cant seem to be to work ot what to do to unlock it, because if i take it out, i obligation something to replace it with. please relieve
Answers: its locked in this position so as to assist you when you come to replace it.turn your engine over until the tdc fault on the fly wheel lines up at the correct place.you should lock this up using the correct pins.also lock the camshaft contained by the correct position.install the pump and timing belt.make sure it is tensioned properly.remove adjectives the locking pins .turn the engine over by hand 360 degree back to tdc and adjectives the relevant marks should procession up.
