Unsure of what smoke from motor?

i must be getting a pain at this.ive basically gone out and started the car,i stood down it whilst my friend revved the exhaust,a load of black smoke come out,and soot was adjectives over the floor.ive just checked my grease,and ots fine,although very overcast and thick.is this right?could any of this be contributing towards blue smoke?thankyou for any replys.

Answers: If it is the unbroken time it runs, then the motor is running rich. You need to adjust the carburetor. If it is EFI, later your Air flow sensor or exaust emissions sensor is screwed up. If it is only when you start it, then try to start it minus pumping the accelerator. If it is when you "floor it", then your timing is probably sour. Unless you have worked on cars befor and know what you are doing, I would suggest you purloin it to the dealer.

If the smoke lone appears on pull-off or when revved it could be the velvestem seals is parrished and obligation to be replaced.
Blue smoke is normally due to overfueling, stipulation to service carburator or injection system.
