Vauxhall corsa 1.2i m reg wont start?

Hi all, ive get a problem i cant figure out, my brother just this minute bought a 1.2i mreg corsa, it wont start unless we block the air supply to it, we tried shifting fuel pump, filter, and tried with 3 diffrent carbs so these are not the problem, if we block the heavens supply, it will start and run but wont idle, next to air wont even start?? any thinking or suggestions as to what to try can you email me plz at mizzkate07(a)aol.com

Answers: try the spark plugs i own m reg 1.2 had similar prom my 4th plug not working

Although it sounds like a fuel problem, enjoy you thought about checking the electrical side eg spark plugs. Not wanting to soung comprehensible but as an owner of an L reg vauxhall corsa, and I was persevering I had a fuel prob, it be the 3rd spark plug that was cause my running problems
