I have just modified a z28 i find i'm getting a convulsion at 150 mph but when i change into second it goes away,is this mundane?

no thats not normal, my honda civic automatic shifts out of 1st gear at 160 MPH and is smoothe as silk until I reach top gear and hit 250 MPH.Ford nouns shuttering/grinding problems at speeds 50-70mph?
