Turbos driven off of the exhaust. and a superchargers belt driven.
Will auto insurance fix near OEM parts?
Answers: I'll just explain both in equal way basic mode. Remember there are several variations of both setups.
Turbo: This setup uses your exhaust gas to spool up a compressor. In a normal car, separate pipes, call headers, carry your exhaust gasses into your exhaust pipe and out the back. In a turbo saloon they are routed into a turbine housing to spin a fan like helm and are then piped out the back. The reins is spinning a compressor fan on the other side of the turbo which sucks in nouns and forces it into your intake manifold. The engine then add the correct amout of fuel and BAM! You've got more power. It sometimes takes time to bring that wheel spinning though...this is called turbo fill. With current turbo design this problem is almost non existent in all but the largest turbochargers.
Supercharger: This also sucks surrounded by air, but depending on the type it uses either a screw resembling setup or a turbo like setup to compress the air into your engine. The difference is, it doesn't use the exhaust gas. Instead it runs off of a belt system usually hooked to the crank. This means in attendance is no lag and it will spool up just as brisk as the engine will rev. The only downside is this usually causes a parasitic loss of power underneath normal driving, giving the feeling similar to have the A/C on all the time.
That is about it. Feel free to google the subject if you'd similar to to learn more!

Technically, a Supercharger is any device which forces air into your engine, instead of it simply getting sucked in. A Turbocharger is a type of Supercharger which is driven by the exhaust coming out of your engine. Other kinds of Superchargers are belt-driven. (Roots type, and Paxton)
