Just curious as to the answers. I run a shop in a small community.
Answers: I am not the usual customer, I look for standard. Good customers will look at quality as long as the price is in reason. If price is lofty and customer service and quality of work is poor....very well do I need speak more? The price should go along near profitability, The customer base should grow on honesty and standard. The consumer has the misconception that price is honesty. Very few look at aspect because they don't know what quality is. Value is the best product (quality) for the most justifiable price. A consumer needs to compare apples to apples. The problem near is that the consumer mistakes an unripe lemon for an apple because of pricing.
Do the best job, stay profitable and build the customer underneath on good, smart customers. You'll enjoy a good steady income.
Small communities are "word of mouth". Just hang on to your customers satisfied regardless of anything else.
If you flog you have an investment surrounded by just getting the customer surrounded by the door.

If they think you do a virtuous job they really don't narrate all their friends conceivably one or two. If they think you do a poor career or think they be ripped off they will convey everyone.
When there is a dispute between you and a consumer, turn it to a win- win situation. Remember your investment , weigh the investment and adjectives income against the loss X 100. Losing a few dollars now may be better than losing a few thousand subsequent.
