I drive a corsa c 02 plate.
I stopped on a hill tonight, so i pulled my handbrake on intricate and then i hear a large clicking resonance and now my handbrake isnt connected to anything and it stop my vehicle from rolling. It just moves up and down freely, i believe its snapped....ideas anyone?
Remove the cover from the e-brake & inspect. If everything appear OK, later raise the vehicle & support n jack stands to investigate further.

Here is a tip for you miladdo.
The Highway Code (UK) say you can not rely on the handbrake to keep a motor stationary.
It doesn't say what other measures you can use... i.e. up to you. I personally resign from my car surrounded by gear as well to prevent it rolling.... but Highway Code a short time ago means if you rely on the handbrake alone... and your coupé rolls away.... YOU are liable for any damage. And I've see cars roll away many a time.
Choc it, tie up it up... Highway Code don't give you adjectives the ways to keep it still, but best you remember this.
If it's snapped it shouldn't be too difficult for a garage to repair. I suppose mine is a cable going to back brake.

I hear that noise since.
There are cables connected the handbrake control and sometimes they go and get rusty and snap.
It can be a nasty, difficult situation so I suggest you get a few estimates from independent shops.
sounds approaching a broken cable. or it could be in one of the actuators
in truth i have no thought i have never see a corsa
