I was recently driving my toyota corolla 130i at 60kmph when suddenly the timing belt get broken and the engine died suddenly. I didn'tinitially know that it was a broken timing belt until a local mechanic came over and identified the problem.
The mechanic manage to fix a new timing belt but i am experiencing pulling problems with my saloon especially when climbing a slope. Could there be some damage that hs be done to the engine? Please help before i give somebody a lift the car back to the mechanic.
Might not have installed the timing belt properly car could be rather off time. there might be something wrong with t he trany wreak i think i herd some be that newer cars will atomaticly put them selfes in tim but im not positive!
you have probably blown the boss gasket of done some damage to the crank
Could be that the mechanic didn't acquire the belt indexed properly on the pulleys and the valve timing is off. One cog tooth bad either way can grounds performance issues.
Take it back to your mechanic and enjoy him check the timing marks again. Also have him check ignition timing if it have a distributor.
Answers: Two possibilities present themselves;
1. The timing belt be put on incorrectly, and the cam timing is off, reducing power.
2. The engine has bent valve due to the original break of the timing belt. The valves are leak, reducing available power.
