That's resembling taking your own hamburger to McDonalds. Just wrong! Give the mechanic a break....he/she needs to clear a living too. I'm a mechanic and I'd think twice give or take a few doing it. If I did, you'd pay the difference within labor anyway...........

it depends on the mechanic. Call around to different shops and see if any of them will install customer parts.

If they do install your parts, I can almost guarantee they won't give you a warranty on any of the work.
