I have a Fiat Punto 2003 and my garage say that it has a leak gearbox but there is nought they can do at the moment. What does this mean and what will transpire if I do not get this fixed??
Answers: The gear box is literally a metal "box" where on earth the transmission gears are located. Lubricant surrounds the gears so that they mesh properly, and if the lubricant leak out the gears will grind on each other until they eventually lock up. Then you won't be going anywhere.
Sounds similar to thay do not know what to do. If the box is loosing oil consequently it will sieze up and cause through damge. I would suggest that you go to a Fiat approved garage asap.
