My engine is burning oil n most probably the piston rings r unpromising....So...How do u do a compression check?
Answers: a gauge that screw into your spark plug hole, get it at a auto parts contractor like napa, screw it surrounded by to your plug hole, then turn the engine over and read what the lbs presure say on guage.
Buy a tool like this:

Or lift it to a shop and have it done.
Scored cyl walls, bleak rings could do it, but so could bad stopcock seals.
