Answers:    On vacuum actuated EGR valve there is a spout that is turned on and bad by the Engine computer. When applied on vacuum pulls open the EGR. When turned past its sell-by date the vacuum needs to bleed bad. So the air that go back into the vein to fill the vacuum wants to be filtered. It's usually in recent times a bit of foam under a plastic panama on the EGR vacuum valve.

An EGR is an Exhaust Gas Recirculation spigot meant for heat contol. It takes unburned fuel from the exhaust and reintroduces it put money on into the engine via an EGR control valve. It's a closed system.....and it's exhaust gasses....so....what get bled or filtered?
