About 2 years ago my Cherokee began shifting funny. I checked my tranny fluid and found nearby to be none showing on the dipstick, so I added a few quarts. A day or so subsequent I was on my process somewhere and as I was going away a town, trying to pick up speed, the Jeep started losing speed. I pulled it over and turned it off, later tried restarting it and pulling away. I couldn't move forward or reverse, it was approaching there be no transmission within. I checked the fluid again and it showed none. In these few days I had never notice any puddles or spots under my Jeep so I haven't a clue where on earth the fluid was going. I have to have my dad verbs the beast to my work where on earth it sat until I have time to haul it home. My dad have looked into the problem and has come to the conclusion that the indeterminate safety switch is the problem. He said it is impossible to help yourself to out forward and reverse gears together, that when a tranny goes the gear you are within is what goes. Someone please shed some restrained on the problem!!
Answers: The trucks have great transmissions within them, Jeep use a trans mission that was produced for the Toyota trucks...(automatic trans)...anyway at hand are a couple things you can check for....there a two lines that run from your trans to your radiator to cool you trans fluid...piece of the line it metal and later there is a short foot or two crevice that is rubber...alot of times the lines will dry rot so check where on earth they go surrounded by to the radiator , some times the fluid will leak down the lines and blow rotten as you drive down the road , you can also look at the bottom of the radiator and see if fluid is pooling up there...check where on earth the lines go into the trans, nearby is also a seal at the support of the trans, it fits into the tail piece where the drive shaft slides within (this is a cheap part unforced to fix) ...look at the bottom of the jeep alot of trans leaks don't come to an end up on the ground because the fluid sits in the jar when the car is not running or contained by gear...when the car is moving it blow it away and adjectives over the bottom of the car...so look and see if theres alot of road grime and if it is fatty in Constancy ...hope i help some
