i put some 18 inch rims but i hate my low profile tires (225/40/18 front 225/45/18 back)
looking to buy some new tires, i want something near a good sidewall height, something soft, and a obedient performer, for acceleration.
thinking of 255/45/18 all around
i found found 4 modern Nitto tires on eBay for $500 with ship
are nittos any good?
what other tires can i buy for lower than $600? If you go over to tirerack they have multiple ways to set down tire searches. I just go there and checked out 255/45/18s(max performance) and the only item close to $150 per tire was the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar. Sumitomo HTR Z III where in the region of $171/tire. Anything lower than $150 was on clearance and didn't have more than 2 available.
I don't know exactly what you're looking for but I'd read out just go to tire rack and do some search, it'll give you an idea what's out near.
Of course you hate them, the tires you chose are a horrible size for that application. It is lucky you didn't have a blowout as those sizes do not own enough load carrying dimensions for your vehicle.
The correct size would be 245/40R18 93W or 245/40R18 XL 97W front AND rear (no reason to stagger tire sizes on this application). This will profess a nearly identical overall diameter to the stock size to minimize speedometer and odometer errors and if inflated to 36 psi will maintain the correct nouns carrying capacity and handling characteristics.
If all you want is cheap tires Sumitomo HTR's can be have at the Tire Rack for $95 plus shipping. www.tirerack.com
