OK, I have an 89 Acura Legend. The battery-operated has be dead for a while. I plan completely dead, when I turned the ignition knob nothing would develop.
So somebody gave me a lunge start and the engine started up right away. But it would only run as long as I have my foot on the gas pedal. As soon as I took my foot off the pedal, the electrical system shut down and I couldn't start the saloon again.
Can anybody tell me what the problem is?
Answers: You must charge and interview the battery.
It is sucking too much power for the motor to stay running.
You will burn up your alternator if you keep doing this.
This happen when older cars sit unused. I suggest a full Tuneup sparkplugs filter the works then a topical battery. If its an electrical piece perhaps a fuse or alternator.
