Just recently my 1995 banger of a 306 have produced little puddles in both sides of the footwells at symmetrical edges subsequent to the gear box housing but a bit further toward the end of the footwell-if that make sense?The liquid is clear, unscented but relatively oily/greasy in consistency. I also cant have the kiln on cos this produces steam from the puddles. The inside of the windscreen is getting wet when i try de-misting it and immediately the rear windscreen heating system doesnt work. Otherwise,The car drives near no problem (touch wood) and the electrics are in polite order.
Anyone know, what it is and how much roughly would it cost to fix? I live surrounded by south of England!

Answers: Lets start with the jammy stuff:
Does it get worse after precipitation? If so check out the windscreen seal, or check that someone hasnt remove a plastic cover from basically infront of the scuttle panel.
If it is the heater - own a close look at it, check hose connections, unions and finally acquire amongst the matrix.
A good passageway to spot where hose down gets contained by is by using chalk, just chalk around areas that you suspect and if the chalk is wash away that's where the slick is.
Dude you need to return with the water out of your motor, as it has be pointed out in previous posts it be made by the old rival and therefore it will rust really quickly, apart from that you involve your heater to demist on cold mornings - you coud be pulled by plod for not have a clear screen.
