The CV boots on my Volkewagen Passat had to be replaced at 24,300 miles ( according too the Volkeswagen service dept ). That seem a little too soon to me! I drive city sometimes highway cobbled roads in Florida.
There is no set mileage to adjust them.
There could have be an updated cv joint boots that the purveyor had to install.
The boot could enjoy been ripped and need replacement.
i depends, if they gain a hole in them later they need to be replaced,
ive have cars with capably over 100000 miles with the artistic cv boots still on, but have have a subaru that had done 12000 that needed one of the boots changed,
in attendance is no set milage, its when ever they get a hole
Answers: Ive never see in any repair manual a service interval for CV boots. You may have have 2 things happen. 1. They may enjoy been dry cracked and have a hole in them. When this happen dirt and water can ruin the bearing inside. 2. It may have be a service recall or upgrade the Dealer must do prior to letting the motor leave the shop.
Yeah, as soon as they have a hole, crack, split, or anything approaching that, they have to be replaced. A lot of torque is driven to your cv's, and the smallest amount of dirt, sand, rocks,or even hose down can cause catastrophic incapacitate to your vehicles drive train.
