Looking to buy a honda prelude vti-r... either 95, 96 or possibly the 97, but unlikely. What should be my first mods to the car (for speed), and what prices will i be looking at. It will be my first saloon, and new laws contained by australia require me to stay below 200kw (272hp)... I doubt i'd get above 230-250hp with the price extent ive got. trying to keep modification costs below $2000-2500. gratitude.
Answers: In any kind of vehicle, always check the soundness of the powered components first. Tune, balance and completely re-build the engine in other words. Things approaching high compression/non-interference pistons are good. and getting any H-type connecting rods or skeletonized connecting rods are a good idea too. Excluding corresponding the crankshaft and camshaft, the rest you can do yourself IF you can be patient and do it right the first time through.
