Ive done this before approaching an idiot, but i always wipe it right away, i just couldnt find anything to wipe it beside this time, but i did get to it while i be still at the gas station. i just dont want it to still munch through away the paint! sorry if this is a dumb question but my friend and i lately wanted to know! Answers: Gasoline disinigrates the wax that protects the paint. It probably won't effect the underlying paint as long as the clearcoat sealer is still within tact.
This happens on motorcycle tank frequently. Just be sure to reapply wax after a gas spill.
P.S. Bowling alley wax stands up ably to gasoline. I use it on my motorcycle tank for this exceptionally reason.
