I have 2006 Dodge Charger, I messed around and let my husband convinced me that grease is oil, it don't matter where on earth you take your car to find a oil change. I other took it back to the dealership and let them do it. So presently, I have collapsed lifters on my hands. What can I do to draw from them back right without highest engine work?

Has the engine become noisy after the oil adaptation? Have you checked to see if the technician didn't forget to install the oil? The valve lifters in your Charger are hydraulically activate. If the lifters are noisy you have an oil problem...are you sure you have enough grease? Perhaps the shop used a cheap oil filter without an anti-drainback tap in the filter which keeps the grease in the engine when it's shut off...if the filter doesn't enjoy an anti-drainback valve the oil can exit the fiter and effect a momentary "rattle" when starting.
I'd go back to the salesperson, explain what happened and have them appropriate a look...after all they see a lot more of these cars than most ethnic group so they should have an answer. If you do have a problem the warranty may still cover the cost of repairs...

Answers: Your husband is an automotive dolt. All oils are NOT the same. So plentiful even popular brands are manufactured the cheapest way with cheapest, if any, detergent additives. Dealership grease is usually a compromise product, as well. Their service department gets a break on lubrication of their saloon hoists if they use this prodcut or that. There is a web site out there that test oils. I wish I could remember what it is. If you hold been using QS or V, you WILL eventually clog up the works. What to do?? Find a Mercury boat store in your nouns or use the Net. They carry a product called "Power Tune". This is a miracle within a can. The active ingredient is butyl cellosolve. It used to be marketed by GM as X-66, top engine cleaner and by Lubro-Moly (of Germany) as "Oil Sludge Remover". When you bring back your hands on it (it is a spray with a snorkel tube), plain your oil filler cap and spray roughly speaking 2/3 can directly into your crankcase. Re-install cap. Drive car as you normaly would for 2 days. The sharp action of the chemical will dissolve the sludge and open the lubrication ports contained by your hydraulic lifters. It will begin in smaller number than an hour, usually. After 2 days, go to an oil redeploy center and insist on Mobil One synthetic oil and bring your own Mobil One oil filter (available surrounded by many auto parts stores). The filters contained by many quick lubes are simply cheap and inferior. When the latest oil is installed, keep your eye on the color and mass of it (by checking the dip-stick). When it gets real dirty brown or excessively gooey (after about 3 months) change the grease again the same way. This time, the grease change should last for at tiniest a year as nearly all the sludge in the entire engine have been removed!!. E-mail me back near your results. Good Luck!
