I heard that if I do not get a special cable that I use surrounded by the installation of the new radio then I will loose my keyless entry. Is this true? I've read some stuff give or take a few people with 2000 and up models not have this problem, but none for my year of production.

It is possible that you might need a cheap adapter, i would ask a coup¨¦ audio place. they would know for sure
Answers: you have need of to get a special wiring harness. my 2000 cavalier wouldnt even start minus the special wiring harness. the keyless entry and the factory alarm go through it for some strange purpose. paid out 100 bucks for the damn thing. if you wanna stay next to a japanese car and it be a good one, win a toyota! (just personl prefrance) good luck.
