I had the engine replaced contained by my Honda Accord 1.8i SE EXEC about 2 yrs wager on. Since then, I hold had to replace the clutch twice and the grease filter changed twice. I had an grease leak a couple of days ago and the mechanic who changed it could not catch the oil filter for a 1.8 to fit. He have a good look at it and finally come back and told me that the engine contained by the car is for a 2L Type R! He manage to get a 2L grease filter to fit in effortlessly. He says it is because of the wrong engine (which apparently looks transposable to my original one within shape and size) that I am having problems next to the clutch and oil filter. Should I know how to get a settlement from the mechanic who put the engine in? Will shifting the clutch to a 2L solve the problem? Thanks in credit for your answers.
Hi I am within the uk in the uk if you own a receipt to vote you have bought a 1.8 engine but you get a 2 litre you should have a indiscriminate to sue however it sounds like you get a much better engine than you paid for.
A 1.8 clutch would not ending as well as the right clutch for a 2 litre.
I'd say aloud you probably can't get a settlement after 2 years.
Honestly you probably shouldn't be having that type of clutch problem, since it is if truth be told not an engine part.
Take it to a reputable nouns shop and have it checked out.
Answers: Depends, did you have the mechanic buy you a rebuild motor, or was it from a cast-offs yard? If it be from a junk courtyard, then it probably be not his fault. No mechanic is going to on purpose stick a wrong motor in your vehicle.
