150 watts adequate for a single JL 12 w3v2?

Is 150 watts RMS enough for a single JL Audio 12w3v2 in a hermetic enclosure ?

lol man i had 2 of those and my amp was 2400 watts max so it be putting like 600-800 rms it was a mono amp. so bridged them! i have 2 12' w3v2 they hit hard. eventuly i blew 1 :(

Answers:    If that sub was contained by a ported box, it might be ok. You should looke to run at least 250 if not 300 watts RMS to that sub. In a hermetically sealed box maybe even look for about 350 watts.

I enjoy 4 of the 12w3 D4's they were the first generation of the W3. I hold them in a sealed box surrounded by my extra cab Ford Ranger. I am running 300 watts to each of them. That sounds angelic in my truck, because I am running 4 of them. But if you have only one sub, you will want to get the most out of it that you can. So, 300 - 350 watts would be great.
