I have a 1986 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe with the Premium Sound System and want to instal an aftermarket, am/fm/cd and bought the plug so I dont hold to rewire everything, and hooked it up and got no sound out, have power but no sound, any ideas on the problem would be greatly appreciated as I love my coup¨¦ and just want to add the cd to it
you hold a problem in your old electric wiring. its not going to be easy but you'll have to reinstall hot speaker wire from each of your speakers to your cd player. the right news is that your aftermarker wire will be better for your premium speakers. its also a polite time to add any extra amps to your speakers.
Answers: The premium nouns system uses a common ground system, you will need this adapter to hook it up. http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/I...
The Amplifier surrounded by your new deck, uses a floating ground.
There also should be a built in amplifier, which requires a remote turn on, be sure to be precise hooked up.
Otherwise you will need to run new speaker telecommunication from the new deck directly to each speaker.
