1989 Saab 900 Sedan cable routing?

I have a 1989 Saab 900s four door sedan with a clarion 1 din removable stereo (factory installed) right in a minute. I would like to pick up a new addressee and install kit from crutchfield.com as many of my local shops close to Best Buy and circuit city have claimed they can't interface with the electrical system while crutchfield says they have a harness that should work for self install. Assuming the harness they provide is correct I should be capable of fairly easily install the beneficiary with all conventional functionality.

What I would like to have is Ipod functionality on the clean receiver which would require routing a new cable out from the subsidise of the receiver somehow. The receiver is currently sitting surrounded by a standard 1 din sleeve which blocks access to behind the dash to see what I could try to do, near the reciver removed. The receiver is at the very top of the scuttle with ventilation vent between it and the gloovebox and a lot of climate control knobs for sevral foot before any other cubby holes going down.

Can I run an amp (a) 3...

Answers:    The old 900s truly have plenty of room in the drop, so that should not be a problem, what you need to do is use a din removal tool to pull the dated radio (crutchfield should provide these free, you can also make them out of coat hanger wire).

You are correct in thinking crutchfield will supply a harness, this should be a simple function of electrical system up the harness, plugging in the two ends and being done near it. Best Buy and Circuit City, simply don't generally stock harnesses for elder and/or less common cars.

The biggest problem you'll imagined have is in routing the iPod cable out from down the dash, it'll be a lot of push-pull trial and error, you may want to consider taking out the glove box and running the cable to it, it also make for a convenient place to leave the iPod out of sight.

Finally, the stock stereos contained by those cars were relatively well matched to the cars and speakers. You may want to consider going for an iPod specific solution close to the Harman/Kardon drive+play (the first generation versions can be found for <$40 now), the humour of music navigation lends itself to these types of solutions with larger displays.

Are Lanzer saloon sudwoofers any biddable?
