okay i think 8 ohms is smaller number than 4ohms, so does this mean that hooking it up to my amp, mechanism it will suck the same power as a 4 ohm sub but produce 1/2 the bass?
is this risk-free, and if i put a 4 ohm sub in instead will it produce 2x the bass as the 8ohm sub.
Answers: ohm is a gauge of resistance,8 ohms is what the speaker shows to the amp, and yes a 4 ohm speaker will pull more power from the amp than the 8 ohm
With a 8 ohm speaker on your amp, (in important terms) your amp will be giving you 1/2 the power and 1/2 the amount of bass as a 4 ohm speaker would. This will not hurt your amp but you will not be taking advantage of the power you enjoy available to you. Get a 4 ohm sub.
