Adding amps....?

I have be installing car stereo components for a couple of years and enjoy never ran into this problem. I newly installed a new deck into my SRT-4, no problem. I run the amp kit to the trunk, no problem. Installed the amp, again no problem. Then i added the 4 ch hooked up the speakers, turned it on and the 4ch powers up fine, the mono block that i installed first works fine but the 4ch produced no nouns. I'm not dumb when it comes to installing amps, but never ran into this problem. I have the main power supply step to a dist. block and then to the amps and still nought. it also happened when i tried hooking up an X-over.
no dumb answers please

Answers:    in good health i dont know the answer, but here is what i would do to trouble shoot. first switch rca cables from sub amp and 4 pipe amp. to rule out bad rca's. later i would check the speakers with a mobile, simply run the speaker wires over the positive and neg of a small aa or c battery you should here static come thru the speaker, this eliminate any damage to the speaker or wires. concluding i would double tripple check the ground wire from the 4ch amp. if adjectives that is ably, it may be a bad amp.
