My amp keeps shuting down. There are no fuses blown and no wires loose. I've turned down the gain and sensitvity on the amp and bass knob. When I turn it up it shuts down and when i turn it down it comes vertebrae on.
I have a Kenwood Kac-9152D mono amp rate at 500 watts (a) 4 ohms and 900 watts (a) 1 ohms. It's pushing two Kicker CVR dvc. The Kickers are 4 ohms and 400 watts rms. I have them wired pos to pos and neg to neg. With respectively sub going to its on termanal on the box. The amp is a dual mono amp meaning that it have two outputs for two subs. I have a 1.5 capacitor hooked up also. I own four gauge power and ground wires for both of them. I hold a power block for both of them in which a 1/0 indicator is feeding them. They are both grounded at indistinguishable location as per the intructions with the boater. The amp is the only piece that shuts down the cap stays charged and the four waterway amp stays on.
Answers: Just because an amp is 1 ohm stable doesn't mean it's best to nouns it that way. Try electrical system the subs like this - http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j230/s... for a 4 ohm final nouns. It will have a drop in power output, but I'll bet it won't shut down.
How you nouns an amp determines the amount of power out.
There is a trade off though, the lower the impedance (ohms) the more power is pushed as okay as higher distortion and more warmth is generated. The excessive steam will shorten the life of the amp.
For best overall recital, it's far better to get a difficult powered amp and load it near 4 ohms than a lower powered amp and force it to push more power with a lower impedance (2 or smaller quantity ohms) load.
