Hi I have a Hifonics Brutus BXi 1606D amp hooked up to 2 12 inch Kicker L7's contained by a sealed box running at 1 ohm. And I obligation to turn off subsonic filter because I enjoy a sealed subwoofer box but my amp wont consent to me turn it off it will one and only let me adjust it from 15 to 50Hz so what should I do to turn it sour or what should I set it to with the system I hold? I also have a phase facet on my amp that lets me adjust it from 0 to 180 degree and what do I set that to? Also what is the low pass setting hold to be because my amp lets me adjust from 35 to 250Hz?

Answers: The subsonic filter is the 15-50hz adjustment. Adjust this to the lowest hz you want the woofers to play. The 35-250hz is the utmost hz you want the woofers to play and the crossover point that should be matched to the mids. The phase setting should be set to match the mids at the hz of the crossover.
First play some low bass. Start next to the subsonic adjustment at 15hz and turn it up until you hear a difference. Somewhere around 30hz. This will keep the woofer from trying to reproduce hz's you can't hear and basically wasting watts.
Then adjust the the crossover to somewhere around 70-80hz, it all depends on the mids and where on earth they're crossed over at. A little harder to adjust.
The phase will have the least possible impact and hardest to adjust. It adjust the phase between the woofer and mids at the crossover point where they both are reproducing indistinguishable hz's.
There should be an off setting for a subsonic filter.
There is no smaller quantity reason to use a subsonic filter on a hermetically sealed box than any other. A subsonic filter removes frequencies below what is really useful and even on CD's, this is almost 40Hz.
A phase switch is the same as electrical system the subs backwards. It's purpose is because a bass wave is unbelievably long and depending on the location, the wave might arrive out of phase. simply flip this back and forth and give up it where the bass sounds stronger.
