I want to hook up a loudspeaker (PA horn) to my headunit because when I go tailgate, everyone can listen to the music. I heard that if I hook up a loudspeaker such as ( http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.... ) to my headunit, later I am running a risk of blowing it. I have an upgraded Pioneer that run me about $300 so I really don't want to blow it. Is it possible to run the wires from the speaker, to a switch, and consequently from the switch to the audio outputs of the headunit so I can then turn the speaker on and bad?
And my final question, would the 50watt speaker be loud satisfactory or should I go beside the 100watt?
Thanks a lot.

Answers: yea a big pa speaker will not be loud hooked up to your team leader unit. if you have an amp hooked up to your head element, that would be a different story. i would say you want at least 50-75 watts rms to craft it loud at all.
and also it depends on the ohmage of the speaker. i dont ponder head unit can run different ohmages smoothly. the head element runs at 4 ohms, so find out how many ohms your speaker is, and be prepared to be disappointed lol. ur better bad just exit your doors and cranking it up.
You sure can blow your headunit. bUT I FOR ONE DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOU TAILGATING ME11!!!!!
