Can hermetic box's produce ANY SPL?

like if i have 6 1000 watt RMS subs could they produce anywere close to as much SPL as 2 1000 watt RMS subs?

Answers: they would likely produce more... but it adjectives depends on the sub.... the Pioneer Premier TS-W5000SPL the world record holder (a) 170+db...guess what....13 hermetically sealed enclosures..

Metalman56......seriously..? dude, i thought you knew that....you're usually on the orb. but yea sparky is right, 3db for doubling of power, but i don't think it would be 6.3 db any...see doubling 2000 will give you 4000 in attendance is 3 db, but from 4 to 6 is only 50% or 1.5 db so thats a 4.5 db gain...right? but even at 6.3db... thats alot of currency for very little payback....

Help choosing subs?

I hold 2 orion 12" dvc's in a hermetically sealed enclosure powered by an mtx thunder series 2300 amp. The best I hold ever done was 137db.
