Capacitor or any other mods?

ok i have a 98' cavalier and am puting within two 12" kenwoods whos RMS is around 300-500 i think...they max at 1,200 and after a 1,200 watt amp so figure bad have just about 300 watts running to each speaker so 600 total watts running. plus the regular speakers. iv get the proper amp hookup and harness for my stereo im putting in but do i necessitate to get a capacitor or better alternator or should i be polite?

Answers:    A cap is with the sole purpose good so far as the audio system isn't trying to verbs too much from the electrical system. A cap doesn't provide more power, it's designed to 'stiffen' the voltage to the amp, nought esle. If the current isn't there, a bonnet won't help.

If your total system power is 1000 watts RMS or more, you will requirement to:

1. Upgrade the alternator to a high output alternator
2. Upgrade to a stocky duty deep cycle mobile
3. Upgrade the "Big 3" - that is to replace the power lead between the battery and alternator, the ground from the battery-operated to the chassis and the ground strap from the engine/tranny to the chassis with at smallest 1/0 AWG wire.

Failure to do this will result surrounded by you replacing them anyway as the alternator will eventually fail.

You should be ok. Ihave 1 12 inch..1200 watts max and a 1200 watt amp and it does a good charge.My lights dim a little when the bass hits rugged but no probs.
