I think that sometimes we tend to get wrapped up contained by what brands/speakers we like so much, that we forget that its all view based.
for example kicker_guy_l7 loves L7s and Kicker in common. He thinks they sound great, and they enjoy great SPL. Thats where i disagree with him. i reflect Kickers have good SPL, but nouns horrible. does that mean hes wrong? no. does that mean i'm wrong? no. it vehicle were 2 different people that hear things differently.
Now he have accused me indirectly of never hearing a L7 or a Kicker sub. this is where on earth i have to draw the line. its awfully unfair for someone assume what others have, or enjoy not heard. everyone's experience is different. and as i have said since everyone hears different things. there is no requirement to be childish.
i dont hold a grudge against kicker_guy_l7. i'm just letting people know to be civil to respectively other in here. there is no necessitate for childish acts over a difference in feelings.
I do agree beside you, Kickers sound like doodie. I voice this because i've OWNED Kicker subwoofers before.
Switching to Boston Acoustics really did it for me.
Well played.
Opinion often interferes with what we enjoy experienced.
The vastly different configurations of a system along with the vehicle it goes contained by will determine the outcome. This is all too often what make or breaks a system in the 'ears' of the listener.
Objective listening is the hardest entity to do.
True that.
Answers: Metalman, I have always valued your opinon, because your honest, and other clear to point out it is only a opinion. you've also be good to point out how two different items differ, not implying that one is better than the other, purely what thier differences are, and i have heard some of the products you enjoy commeted on, and typically my opinion closely reflects what you own said.
Keep doing what your doing...
As for kicker_guy_l7, he needs to apreciate that we will not all agree, and to be precise the very reason in that are multiple companies to begin with, to accomidate different taste. People need to realize that just because someone does not agree near your choice in audio, it does not mean that they disrepsect you. it's simply a difference of inference. And i have no doubt that you enjoy heard a L7 before, i penny-pinching who hasn't? they are everywhere.
Well played.

Well said. Through my realm of buying & selling subs I've owned an L7 and would agree with you. Great SPL, but sounded sloppy. Granted, it could've be the enclosure I had for it or the environment the sub be in. As far as I'm concerned, the L5 sounded a little better to me ... their CVR's sounded better afterwards both of them to me.
But what I'm getting at is ... if it sounds good to you, that's all that matter. No need to make childish accusation. If it's time to go away mad, it's time to basically go away.
I agree...this is a copy and paste of a cross-question I answered caraudio.com.Its just an example of opinions.The topic be L7 VS. Type R alpine.Which was better
"A great thing something like Forums.they are a great place to express ones knowledge and OPINIONS. Being in coup¨¦ audio for 18-19 years now,I have other been asked which is better.this or that. Well Im gonna tell you right here and presently. MOST car audio opinions of products are formulated
from experience and not facts/science. This is a FATAL FLAW surrounded by judging various products. The most important reason is we as the asker do not know what the circumstances were contained by each person. This goal.what kind of enlosure was used, how okay was it built, what kind of amp used, what loving of deck, was there ample voltage supplied, was the right size wire used,be the system/speakers laid out for the proper sound enhancing, what kind of vehicle..you obtain my point...TOO MANY factors. BUT...I will say that I enjoy used BOTH with there proper crate specs...both ported and sealed. It is also difficult to judge alot of times because sundry brands/products perform suprisingly close sometimes.
Sometimes you are comparing 2
great products. That is the case here. In MY evaluation, both are exceptional subs and choosing the right one will determine what kind of sound you are looking for. If you are looking for SPL,I suggest using the L7 contained by a ported enclosure or a sealed ring at about 10% more than recommended air space. If you want nouns quality, then jump with the alpines at about the middle field of recommended air space. They will give you a extent between .65 to 1.0 cuft airspace...go around .75 to .85 cuft. As with any great sub,you will draw from great perfomance so long as you supply them with ample power or with within RMS range and THE RIGHT TYPE OF ENCLOSURE. My rule of thumb is to supply the sub with at LEAST partially of its RMS rating. Use a good amp(meaning not cheap)or one thats CEA compliant 2006 and they both will sound great. I enjoy used both at these subs with the aboved mentioned variables and that is my opinon of them. Good luck."
ALL WHAT I MENTIONED PLAYS A VERY IMPORTANT ROLE WHEN LISTENING TO SUBS

Am i doing sprite to my subwoofer...
i agree. everyone listens 2 different kinds of music..rock, rap, r&b, pop, anything and they all want their music to have a specific nouns. which is why there are thousands of brands and many sizes of amps and subs. some general public just want a little bass that they dont seize from their speakers, and some want their truck 2 vibrate and make as much disturbance as possible to attract attention. my opinion is kickers are good, but they're in recent times for the attention.Well said.
