I am located in Riverside, California.
Anybody have recommendation for models and shops with good deal sound system on a $100 or slightly higher budget that sounds fully clad and clear for at least 30ft or so-too little for great but at least wearing clothes?
The kind of combo I am referring to is like for example:
cd player model x, subwoofer+box model y, amp model z, speakers model a, electrical system b power c speaker etc..
Hey guy above me, off brands can be great too! But like he said, a better set of speakers and an amplifier to power them is the best start.
I can`t stand to say this but your S.O.L. if that is your budget. A cheap director unit alone costs 100 bucks. A decent system will run you bout 450, and as much as I usually pay no attention to price as a factor, any cheaper than that will be garbage. Stick to the stock!
Cheapest way to better sound is near better speakers. Factory speakers are very porly built and are usually made of paper.
A nice set of speakers will boost things greatly. Oh, stick with brand names approaching Infinity or Blaupunkt. Avoid the X-brands.

Answers: I have a 99 Corolla CE, the stock speakers sucked, all thesis cones, I replaced them with 250 watt Sony Xplod's all around. I have 6.5 inch in the back and 5 1/4 surrounded by the front, but if you have a gen 8 corolla (98-02) you can fit 6.5 in the front too, so I returned the 5 1/4s and put surrounded by 6.5's. Sounds really nice. I'm going for a new head section, sony xplod cd player to go with the speakers, and plus, the stock component doesn't give much quality at high-ranking output. You can grab a pack of 6.5's in wal mart for 49.99, respectively set comes with 2. Not too hard to install, took a few hours, but it be my first time. The front door speakers on corolla are annoying though, they are riveted in, Start with the backside speakers for experience, its easier, then do the front. I'm about to draw from an amp and a sony xplod 10 inch sub, my friend has a sony xplod 12 inch, it sounds sooo nice, the whole motor shakes, literaly, door panels look like they will drop off. Some people dislike intensely on Sony, but if you get Sony Xplod you can't go wrong, great power stuff, Good luck bro
