I dont know why but all my gauge will work sometimes and sometimes they wont they act crazy and they dont work at adjectives until i cut the bass up...also my check engine light is on anybody know how i can fix this??i know the subs are down it because it didnt happen until in the order of 3 weeks after i got them...its contained by a 2000 jeep charokee
There are a couple of things to look at. First if you are using a "Cap", make sure you hold it wired correctly. If this is connected wrong or is faulty it could rationale your voltage to rise to a point where your instruments / sending unit go Dumb.
I would also suggest that you look solid close to your "Ground" wire for your splash circuit. It sounds like when your bass go up it is vibrating your cable connections so they are making connection.
With that said I would also suggest that you bring a Multi Meter and check your battery voltage when the jeep is rotten, and check again when you start the jeep and again when you have the vehicle running and the bass pounding. This simple experiment will show if your system is back feed or drawing to much amperage.
Go to autozone and borrow their OBDII tool to verbs the codes for your Check Engine Light (CEL).
As far as the other problem, you might be pulling too much juice and throwing adjectives of your other sensors off. They adjectives need a relatively steady voltage surrounded by order to run properly.
IF you find this to be a problem, you can append another battery or they deal in special electrical modules to keep the nouns system from interfering with the sports car.
