I have a 15" Square Solobaric L7 hooked up to a 1200watt JBL amp., everytime i turn up my bass real loud, when it sounds legitimate good, it cuts off on me, purely the bass, then when i turn the volume back down it turns pay for on, i know that 15 can handle a more powerful amp than the one i have so why does it turn bad when i turn it up too loud?
try to make sure that both pos. and neg. wires are large satisfactory to supply the amps needs, and that both are connected directly to the battery (with the proper size fuse surrounded by between)
Answers: well the first thing that doesn't lend a hand much is the jbl amp.It says 1200w but is actually lone around 500w.It could be that the power cables are too thin so move about for 4 gauge wiring.Check for loose connections because once the sub starts kicking, a line might be moving about causing it to cut out.Hope this help

Turn the gain on the amp down until it clears up. Make sure your ground is good and solid. If that doesnt fix it use a volt meter to see if your voltage is droping below 11 volts when your cranking the system. If so then you arent suppling the amp beside enough juice. May requirement a cap.
