i have a single cab 92 dodge knock against and a pretty new pioneer radio.i just bought a roadmaster 300 watt speaker system and a 200 watt amp...and a electric wiring kit to hook it up but i don't know how to do it..plzz help!!
1st off pop the radio out of the plunge be sure to not hve the ignition on. read the install kit instructions carefully, really adjectives you should have to do is look at the diagram and match the wires, some of them or color matchedbut if the radio that u hold is not stock , it should be pretty simple, becuause who ever installed the aftermarket radio would have installed a wiring harnest, wich have the same color wires as the install kit. purely be sure to use a 4 or 8 gauge wire for the hot line, and dont forget to have the ground wore bolted to metal becuase if not the am wont gain any power
Answers: as long as you get a wiring harness adapter it should be pretty simple. Read the directions that came next to it. Sounds like you will be using your stock speakers in front and some aftermarket surrounded by back. You need to hook your stock speaker wires to the corresponding colors on the electrical system harness. Next you'll need to hook up the power wire and the ignition cable and a ground wire. Now you have to connect your amp. Run a 4-8 evaluate wire from your battery to your amp(hook it to the power part of the pack. You'll need a adapter to hook this to your battery. Next run a lead from your amp ground to a piece of metal on your trucks frame. Third, run a small wire from your amps remote terminal to the back of your cd player. It should be labeled as remote and us usually blue. Last but not tiniest you need to run RCA wires from your cd player to your amp. Run it on the opposite side that you run all your other wires. This is what delievers the sound and if you run it next to all the other wires it will pick up static and other weird noise. I think thats it. Its always smart to put a fuse on your power flex from you battery. It may save you from ruining your amp. philcore3(a)yahoo.com if you own any more questions.
