Hi, I have bought a modern car and am trying to catch my 200 watt 8" Bazooka out of the back of my dated 2000 Chevy Cavalier. I disconnected everything from the battery, next pulled the wiring out where on earth it had be ran through to the rear legs, but then when I get to the very finishing part contained by the trunk, I noticed 2 copper colored wires, within clear encasing, that be hand-connected to some of the Bazooka wires, then wrapped surrounded by electrical tape. The ends of those wires are hooked up to my two rear-end factory speakers. I am unsure if those wires belong to the Bazooka tube electrical system system and if I keep them, or if they are to stay connected to the factory speakers, or if I only just leave them dangling or what. I did not install this system, so I own NO IDEA what i'm doing. I figured unwiring speakers be a lot easier than installing them but immediately i'm really confused. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you awfully much in finance.
Answers: Take those wires off, they are individual taking the sound signals from the speakers to your tube.
You've disconnected the power to the tube, but remember the tube plays bass (music) so it wants something to send it the nouns signals (which come from those two wires attached to your rear speakers)
They walk with the tube, really - your motor doesn't need them. If you hook up the tube to another vehicle, you will need those two wires to connect to the backside speakers again (to get sound)
It sounds resembling the people that installed the element to your 2000 Cavalier tried to make your flipside 6 x9 's powered by the Tubes internal powered sub. Not a bad perception but a lot to do next once uninstalled. Can you still see the oem factory wiring coming from the headunit to the reverse speakers. The wires or ports on the headunit will be markers. If so consequently just clip sour the attached wires from the tube to the rears later reconnect to the factory wiring. If no Oem electrics then seize that fixed by a pro or you can spend 3 hours doing it yourself.The copper wires should have be a heavier guage insulated wire that would enjoy been twisted together placidly and soldered and crimped.
